Researchers
This section contains a lot of useful information about the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica as well as our biological field station and research facilities. For researchers interested in working on the Osa Peninsula, you will find weather data, species lists, science reports, and GIS information about our properties, trail network, and spatial information about current and past research. You may also be interested in the bibliography of Osa research.
Professors, students and conservation visitors
If you aren't a researcher and don't need all the details, our Osa Peninsula weather data page will still give you a good idea about how warm or rainy it will be during the time of your trip. You might want to explore our interactive interpretive maps where you can learn a lot about Osa wildlife before your arrival.
Our Visitor Information page contains everything you need to know about getting to the Osa Biodiversity Center, our Costa Rican biological field station and conservation center. It will help you book flights or find a bus to the Osa. Use our packing checklist to make sure you come prepared. When you arrive in Puerto Jimenez, this map should help you find your way around. Puerto Jimenez restaurants, lodging, banks, supermarkets, taxis, bus station and 'colectivo' stop are all included in the map.
Sea Turtle Volunteers
If you are interested in volunteering with sea turtles, please find everything you need on our volunteer page or go directly to the Turtle Program Information Booklet. Sea turtle volunteers have the option to stay at the Piro Research Center or choose an independent Carate lodge. The Accommodations Booklet gives you all the information you'll need to make an informed choice.
No matter what your reason for visiting the Osa Peninsula, we hope you enjoy our Photo Gallery of the amazing wildlife of Costa Rica.
