Sea Turtle Project

The Friends of the Osa Sea Turtle Conservation Program, based in the Osa’s lush Piro region, and just down the road from the Osa Biodiversity center, is a year-round conservation program. As integral members of the effort to protect the Osa’s sea turtles, FOO researchers patrol the beaches nightly, collect data on the turtle populations, and live in a field station right on the beach. These sea turtles depend on this crucial range of nesting habitat, and they need our help!

Your generous donation would help finance:

- Satellite Tags for the turtles

- Turtle Egg Hatchery

- Sea turtle coordinator

- Transportation for our volunteers

- Beach patrolling efforts
